In November 2009, I had two mastectomies. Previous to this, I had cancer in the right breast with the traditional biopsy, removal of lymph nodes, and radiation.....1992. I took Tamoxifen with numerous side effects.... stopped, and switched to a holistic life style with lots of green tea, fruits, veggies, antioxidants, and no plastics with food or drinks. I was cancer free for 17 years!
After the mastectomies, I talked with an oncologist, and he recommended a standard, in-the-box chemo treatment with hair loss and negative symptoms to the immune system. At this time, I had read Suzanne Somers " Knockout" and learned of Dr. Burzynski's treatment in Houston. I called and got an appointment in January 2010. I met with a team of doctors to decide my treatment. Dr. Burzynski suggested genetic testing, and Dr. Kubove followed up with sodium phenylbutyrate (PB), Aminocare, and other antioxidants
in pill form.Added to this was a low dose chemo pill for four or five months, and Femara, another drug to curtail the estrogen in my body. Because I had a special protein in my tumor analysis, it was recommended that I take Herceptin intravenously when I got home.
In January, my gene testing revealed a tumor growing gene to be overexpressed at 200. After taking all the pills three months, my genes were retested and the one previously mentioned was down to 77, within normal range.
I followed my pill regiment faithfully and graduated from the program in December 2010. I felt fine most of the time. There was a problem with the Herceptin, but I managed to get six months of that treatment before I stopped. I can honestly say my treatment was safe,
manageable, and allowed me to lead a normal pace of life during the year. I am thankful for Dr. Burzynski, Dr. Kubove, and Dr. Kahn who lead me through the process of wellness from cancer. I pray for their cure to reach out to all of you who read this.
