Sophia sent us this photo in April of 1999.

In January of 1996, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was scheduled for surgery immediately, and 3 days later I had a breast lump and lymph nodes removed. The next step was to begin chemotherapy. I refused because I was afraid of the side effects of chemotherapy drugs.

However, the doctors said that if I didn't receive chemotherapy, I might not have very much time to live. My husband then began to do some research. He remembered hearing about a doctor out of Texas who was helping cancer patients survive. The next week we made an appointment and drove to see Dr. Burzynski. He started me on an 8-month oral  treatment program, and my life has not been the same since. I feel healthier, stronger, and most important, I am alive today.

Not only did Dr. Burzynski help control my cancer, he also gave me hope that someday I may see my children get married. I have strong faith in Dr. Burzynski, not only because of what he has done for me but also because of what he has done for others. I pray every day that God will bless Dr. Burzynski so he can continue helping others who have lost the will to live.
