Peggy A. Demske
Diagnosed: March 11, 2004
Diagnosis: Stage 3 Lobular infiltrating Carcinoma
After an unsuccessful attempt at lumpectomy, my surgeon performed a double mastectomy in May 2004. All doctors in Northwest Indiana and Chicago wanted to do full doses of chemotherapy and radiation immediately with hormone blockers. I had been dealing with irregularities regarding my adrenal and thyroid glands and was not happy with their (doctors up north)unwavering allegiance to “one protocol” for anyone with the same diagnosis whether you had other problems or not.
I had heard of Dr. Burzynski’s clinic several times before from my own clients and other sources. Most of the people I knew who went to see Dr. Burzynski did not go to him from the beginning of their treatment. They waited until they had done several full dose chemotherapies and radiations, etc. Dr. Burzynski prescribed my first and only treatments after surgeries.
In July, 2005, I am already coming down from the Sodium Phenylbutyrate doses, having never had a recurrence. I continue to take Arimidex, 16 pb’s a day, and Amino Care, along with my vitamins and organic foods. I depend on prayer, use Creative Visualization techniques, make use of a Cancer Resource Center for Yoga and support groups locally, and stick closely with the suggestions of an astute nutritionist to get well. And I will say that without the love of my hardworking husband and his two jobs, I would never have been able to even think of coming to this clinic. (Thanks, my Love!) One last note I will leave you all with: rest is a great healer, deep breathing is conducive to rest, and so is daily fresh air, light exercise and sunshine…GO FOR IT and GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
