June Haskell
In June, 2002, at the age of 78, June was diagnosed with colon cancer, which had spread to her lymph nodes. She had been in excellent health until she developed rectal bleeding weight loss and diarrhea.
A lower endoscopy revealed a lesion in the lower rectum consistent with rectal cancer. She underwent surgery, which revealed a poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma of the colon with metastases to the lymph nodes.
June was advised that she had no recourse but to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She refused, after reviewing the potential side effects of these. In a newsletter from Dr. Julian Whittaker, she saw this quote, “ If I had cancer, I would run, not walk, to The Burzynski Clinic in Houston, Texas.”
She and her husband loaded their RV and drove all the way to Houston from their home in Virginia. Dr. Burzynski started June on sodium phenylbutyrate for ten days. She returned to her home and continued treatment until April, 2003, when it was confirmed that she was free of cancer.
June and her husband have now moved to Florida. She gets a PET scan every three months and takes Dr. Burzynski’s Aminocare supplement. She is energetic and happy andshe says< “God Bless Dr. Burzynski and the clinic staff. Everyone associated with the Burzynski Clinic are wonderful people.”
