Isaiah Clinton
In March 1997, during a routine physical exam, a blood test revealed that I had an elevated PSA of 5.8. A biopsy showed definite evidence of prostate cancer. My urologist explained my options: 1) I could live for up to 12 years if I did nothing, 2) I could have radical surgery, 3) I could take radiation treatments, 4) I could have radioactive pellets implanted, and, 5) I could have hormone treatments.
Options 2,3 and 4 all had terrible side effects that I didn’t want to endure. Option 5 was Zoladex hormone injections, which would not cure the cancer, but would slow the spread. I accepted this treatment to give me time to investigate other options. The hormone treatment caused “the sweats” and caused my breasts to get very tender.
I heard about the Burzynski Clinic and their success in curing cancer. After much prayer, I contacted the clinic and was accepted for treatment with Sodium Phenylbutyrate (PB) and, later, Aminocare A10 was added to my treatment.
I will be seventy years old in July, 2004 and believe that our Lord Jesus Christ blesses me and my wife every day. I still have prostate cancer, but it seems to be stabilized and I have no other problems.
