I am one of Dr. Burzynski's patients whose life literally has been saved by his antineoplaston treatment, and I am writing to tell my story.
I was very sick for 10 years with pleurisy, debilitating weakness, shakiness, and fatigue. All the while I tried to function as a wife and mother raising two children. I was in hospital emergency rooms a lot and saw many doctors who performed many diagnostic tests.
In 1989, I finally was diagnosed with connective tissue disease and then, 6 months later, with lupus. I started prednisone therapy. I took prednisone for 3.5 years, with all the risks and side effects, and it did nothing for me. I now have osteoporosis as a result. Despite the prednisone, I was still sick at least 2 to 3 days a week with the debilitating fatigue that accompanies lupus.
I could not keep up with my duties as a wife and mother of two teenaged sons, much less try to work part time, which I planned to do so they could attend college. Half the time I felt so weak I couldn't walk or stand. I couldn't stand up to cook dinner, much less clean up. I remember forcing myself to go to all the open houses at school and other functions, but being barely able to walk around the school it hurt so much.
I wanted to keep up with the things that were important to my sons as I always had done, being a room mother, active in the PTA, and so on. But lupus can be a very crippling disease, and it is a depressing illness because one feels sick all the time. I felt like I had the flu, and I had high fevers. This is why doctors told me I had a virus but then discovered I had lupus. There was nothing more doctors could do for me.
A friend of mine who had prostate cancer told me about Dr. Burzynski's treatment. My friend had surgery for the cancer, but the doctor closed him up, doing nothing, and gave him 6 months to live. He wasn't going to accept that. After thoroughly checking it out, he went to Houston, Texas, for Dr. Burzynski's treatment. My friend said Dr. Burzynski would be willing to try a study on patients with lupus and that the drug was safe with no side effects.
I thought, why not? It's surely worth a try. I had a family to raise, things to do, and a life to get on with. I did not have time to be sick. By the way, my friend has completed antineoplaston therapy and is cancer free.
The day I left for Houston, I could hardly walk in the airport. Within 6 weeks of starting to take antineoplaston capsules, the lupus was in remission. I had more energy than I ever had before, and no lupus symptoms. I also was able to discontinue the prednisone with no ill effects.
I have been on antineoplaston therapy for 5 years, and the lupus has stayed in remission. I have never felt better. I function like a normal person. These have been the greatest 5 years of my life! I know it is all due to antineoplastons.
